In 2020, EXAR Guru 87198B, the sire of this donor, had daughters sell for $120,000, $37,500 and $24,000 at the EZ Angus Ranch Sale. Guru is used extensively at several seedstock producers such as EZ Angus, Wilks Ranches and Express Ranch. Sunbeam is considered one of the progeny proven sires in the Angus breed due to his of calving ease, growth, and carcass merit that is combined with superior foot quality and stature. His progeny are thick topped and deep bodied with excellent heel depth and foot size. His dam, GAR Ingenuity 3132, is considered by some to be one of the best cows that ever came from the Gardiner Ranch and is a long-time donor at Maplecrest Farms. Sunbeam was the sire of Maplecrest Farm’s all-time, high-selling bred heifer in their 2021 production sale, and that heifer is currently a donor at the Baldridge herd in Nebraska.
